John Ayling

John Ayling began his legal career after graduating from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Now based in Anchorage, he focuses on litigation and transactional law, offering clients a thoughtful approach informed by both legal training and real-world business experience. His practice reflects a balance of advocacy and problem-solving skills. John earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with Honors, from Grinnell College in 2008. He later pursued his Master of Business Administration at Columbia Business School, graduating in 2013. Building on this strong academic foundation, he went on to complete his Juris Doctor at the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2024. During law school, John gained valuable practical experience. He worked with Meyer Njus Tanick, where he developed litigation skills, and at the University of Wisconsin Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic, where he advised clients on transactional matters. These experiences provided exposure to both courtroom advocacy and client counseling in the field of business law. Before entering the legal profession, John worked extensively in the finance sector. He held positions in equity research and investment banking with organizations such as Morningstar, Inc., and Piper Jaffray (now Piper Sandler).
