James Walsh

James J. Walsh is a partner in the firms Philadelphia office. He concentrates his practice in complex general liability defense matters and has considerable experience in premises, auto, and products liability claims; professional negligence; contractor/commercial litigation; and defense of claims involving regulated industries, such as private security and common carriers. He also helps ski areas/resorts with the defense of claims involving their all-season activities. Mr. Walsh has significant jury trial, arbitration, and mediation experience, and maneuvers tactically throughout the litigation to shape the case for the best strategic outcome. His clients value his balanced perspective and candid communications style. Mr. Walshs innate defensive instincts, aggressiveness, and dedication to mission success were honed during his decade of service in the U. S. Marine Corps and are quite effective in his representation of clients and trial work. He enjoys the problem-solving nature of his work and recognizes that unique issues require unique, not cookie-cutter, solutions. Clients see him as smart, tenacious, and creative. Prior to joining Cipriani & Werner, Mr. Walsh worked for defense firms in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. He is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar, the U. S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, and the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science, cum laude, from the Pennsylvania State University, where he was a member of the Ski Team. He earned his J. D., cum laude, from Widener University School of Law. When not practicing law, Mr. Walsh enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons in Langhorne, PA, keeping fit, and skiing.
