Patrick Kasson

Overview Patrick is a trial lawyer who has tried hundreds of jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations and administrative hearings. He also maintains an active appellate practice, having handled roughly 100 appeals, including twelve matters before the Ohio Supreme Court. Patrick is routinely called upon to handle some of the most high profile litigation in Ohio: As lead counsel, Patrick successfully defended the litigation arising out of the catastrophic Fireball accident at the Ohio State Fair in 2017. Won a landmark First Amendment case for the actor James Woods in one of the countrys first and most significant social media defamation cases. Successfully defended hundreds of employment discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination claims. Successfully defended, as lead counsel, the claims arising out of the mass stabbings at the Attorney Generals office. Successfully defended numerous class and collective actions involving wage hour matters and other employment related claims. Successfully defended two separate elevator deaths on Ohio States campus. Defended in excess of 75 excessive force/false imprisonment claims. Successfully defended, as lead counsel, the target Defendant in the $16 million dollar Crocker Park explosion. Extensive experience in defending hotels, retailers and trade associations in claims under the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008.
