Who are you? Bradley Whitaker, PhD, Electrical Engineering Who is your employer? Georgia Tech -- Lorraine Metz, France How did you learn about your internship? A professor that I TAd for occasionally teaches at Georgia Tech Lorraine and knew of a vacancy for a temporary position. He suggested that I apply. What was the application process like? I emailed my resume/CV to the hiring manager and then had a Skype interview with him and a few others. I did my homework about the job responsibilities before the interview and it paid off! What were your major tasks or projects at this internship? My job is to teach a few undergraduate classes and manage the laboratory equipment. Where did you live? Did you find accomodations independently or with your companys help? The company found an apartment for me. How has this internship influenced your career path? I had always wanted to go into academia eventually (after getting my PhD). After this internship, I may apply directly for teaching positions instead of my original plan to work in industry for a few years first. If paid, did the company you worked for pay you enough to live off of your salary or stipend, or did you have to supplement your income with personal funds? The company pays enough.
