About
Tom Johnsons practice has focused on commercial litigation and white collar defense. He has handled lawsuits, including class actions, involving insurance practices, toxic torts, proxy contests and corporate takeovers, banking matters involving lender liability, foreclosures and complex collections, franchise disputes, defense and prosecution of securities fraud claims, natural resources cases involving take-or-pay commitments, pricing disputes, preemptive rights and a variety of contract disputes, real estate and leasing matters commonly involving allegations of fraud and misrepresentation, bankruptcy litigation, employment-related disputes, health care industry matters, distributorship terminations, unfair trade practices cases including false advertising and theft of trade secret claims, white collar crime defense, and corporate internal investigations. Tom has extensive jury trial experience and has argued numerous matters before state and federal appellate courts. For the last four years Tom has focused on representing asylum seekers pro bono. He has obtained asylum for clients from Cameroon, Eritrea, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, El Salvador, Venezuela, Cuba, and other countries. Prior to joining Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP in 1988, Tom supervised all litigation for the Denver office of a major Chicago law firm and served as the managing partner of that office for 20 months. Toms practice experience includes seven years of service as an assistant U. S. attorney in Chicago, Illinois. Tom is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations. He was recognized by Chambers USA as a Leader in Their Field of Litigation: General Commercial, listed among The Best Lawyers in America , and was named one of Denvers Top Lawyers in 5280. He has also been selected for inclusion in Colorado Super Lawyers by Thomson Reuters and is a former Denver Police Foundation board member.
