Scott C. Commander While working full time as an air traffic controller at Atlanta Center, Mr. Commander attended Georgia State University College of Law full time, graduating cum laude in 1991. In law school, Mr. Commander was active in moot court, trial competition teams and the Christian Legal Society. He also participated in an externship at the DeKalb District Attorney's office, trying a bank robbery case to a successful verdict as a third year law student. Mr. Commander began practicing law in 1991 with the Atlanta law firm of Alston & Bird, working in the medical products and services liability group. At Alston & Bird, Mr. Commander represented doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice, products liability and related litigation. Mr. Commander left Alston & Bird in 1996 and formed his current law practice, representing victims of preventable injury and death in all aspects of personal injury litigation and subsequently representing physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice lawsuits. Mr. Commander has tried more than 25 cases to a jury verdict in state and federal courts across Georgia. He has successfully arbitrated, mediated or otherwise resolved in excess of 200 personal injury cases, with results as high as $8,500,000. His practice extends to South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee and Florida. He is admitted to practice in the State and Superior Courts of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Mr. Commander lives in Gainesville, Georgia.
