Sarah M. Ingalls

Biography Sarah Ingalls (née Ferraro) is an associate attorney in Thompson Burtons litigation practice group. She represents clients in a range of complex commercial matters, including disputes involving property, contracts, and trade secrets. Sarahs practice also includes employment law. She counsels employers on best practices and has experience handling employment litigation, including actions arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and Americans with Disabilities Act. Before joining Thompson Burton, Sarah served as a law clerk to the Honorable Anne C. Martin in Davidson County Chancery Court. During law school, she was Editor-in-Chief of Belmont College of Laws Health Law Journal. Her note, Finding the Positive in a Positive Drug Test: How Narrowing the Definition of an Individualized Pre-Employment Assessment Under the ADA Can Encourage Recovery from Opioid Dependence, was selected for publication in the Journal. She also competed on Belmonts Moot Court team and was a semifinalist at the Emory Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition. Prior to her legal career, Sarah was a news producer at East Tennessees most-watched television station. There, she led a team of reporters, photographers, editors, and directors in producing a daily evening newscast. Her newscasts were featured in the stations Regional Emmy and National Murrow award-winning breaking news coverage of the deadly Gatlinburg, Tennessee wildfire in November 2016.
