J. David

Prior to joining Robenalt Law, David gained unique and comprehensive litigation experience at a large defense firm in Columbus, and more recently as the Vice President, Head of Litigation for the national retailer Big Lots. David has extensive experience in managing a large, complex, and national docket of personal injury and premises liability cases. He also managed the company’s product claims and product liability litigation, including mass tort actions involving catastrophic injuries or death. David led litigation strategy — and some of the best lawyers in the country — in matters of all shapes and sizes nationwide. In addition to his extensive premises liability, product liability, and personal injury experience, David’s career also reflects a strong emphasis on employment law, with a particular focus on class and individual wage and hour and unpaid overtime disputes, harassment, discrimination, disability and accommodation issues, wrongful termination, retaliation, FMLA and other protected leave, and compensation disputes. He regularly provided advice and counsel relative to executive employment agreements and negotiation. David was Big Lots’ lead employment counsel throughout his tenure, and previously practiced employment law and litigation at a large defense firm in Columbus. David is a proud board member of A Kid Again of Central Ohio and the Columbus Flying Club. He also serves his community as a Commissioner on the Upper Arlington Civil Service Commission. David was admitted to practice law in Ohio in 2011, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit soon thereafter. David is excited to use his experiences to represent those injured – both personally and professionally - at the hands of the negligent, wrongful actions of others.
