Company: Steele LLP Incumbent: Yes UTA Member Since: 2013 Biography: Ms. Manson-Tompkins is the managing attorney of Steele LLPs Eviction and Foreclosure Departments. Ms. Tompkins has spent most of her 35 years in practice handling residential civil litigation, with particular emphasis on complex evictions, non-judicial foreclosures, title resolution, and mobile home foreclosures. Ms. Tompkins also has substantial experience handling surplus funds, deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure and bankruptcies. Ms. Manson-Tompkins has been frequently called upon to speak at local and national mortgage industry events. For example, she has been a speaker at several REOMAC (REO Managers Association of California) and United Trustees Association (UTA) conferences, a faculty speaker for the National Business Institute (NBI) and Lorman Education Services on residential servicing issues, and a panelist and lead facilitator for the USFN at its Regional and National Loan Management and Servicing Seminars. She has also published various articles for the USFN Report, the USFN National Mortgage Service Directory, the USFN e-update and the UTA Quarterly Newsletter and Servicing Management. She is a past chair of the USFN REO/Evictions Committee and USFN Publications Committee and is currently on the executive board and board of directors for UTA. Prior to joining the firm, in addition to running her own successful practice for a decade, Ms. Manson-Tompkins was a managing attorney with several prominent default servicing firms in Orange County, CA. Why I would like to continue to be a member of the Board of Directors and my vision for UTA: I believe it is important to be knowledgeable in any changes to the foreclosure laws that will impact what a trustee is required to do in order to process a foreclosure. Being on the legislative committee would enable me to keep tabs on any legislation that may impact that process and be in a position to educate the trustees of any upcoming changes to the foreclosure process. Being on the board of directors gives me an opportunity to have first hand information on these changes as well as to discuss what educational webinars and/or panels would best help the trustees.
