For nearly a decade, he has represented clients in courts across the Chicago area. Garrett has successfully litigated hundreds of cases, led a variety of complex negotiations, and obtained favorable verdicts in dozens of trials. He is recognized as a premier attorney and has a long record of resolving high-stakes cases with the best possible results. Prior to founding the firm, Garrett began his career at a criminal justice organization where he focused primarily on criminal cases involving public policy issues and the wrongly accused. He won his first felony jury trial less than three months into practice and was ultimately appointed special counsel to handle his teams most serious cases as the youngest attorney on staff. In the years since, Garrett has handled countless criminal, civil, and administrative matters. He has successfully navigated a range of complex proceedings and advised clients on a myriad of issues—including criminal defense, civil rights, government investigations, administrative proceedings, civil forfeiture, domestic relations, trusts, probate, and personal injury matters. Garrett has counseled individual clients, business owners, nonprofits, and startup companies. Garrett earned his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and attended law school at Georgetown University in Washington, D. C. During his time in the nations capital, Garrett conducted extensive policy research and helped design Georgetowns legal practicum on social entrepreneurship. He litigated federal civil rights cases in a student clinic, clerked in the trial division of a leading defender agency, and was awarded for excellence in Trial Practice.
