Knowing that engaging in litigation can be stressful for clients, Catherine brings a positive outlook that helps ease their path through the sometimes-arduous process. Shes passionate about helping clients achieve the best possible result with the least amount of worry. Catherine may have been destined for a career in law. After all, she comes from a family of attorneys. She began her career at a smaller firm, which gave her early hands-on experience that is rare for newer lawyers. Since then, she has been building a practice focused on handling business and real estate disputes for clients in a range of industries, from restaurants to oil and gas. Adept at managing cases from inception to disposition, Catherines experience includes a variety of commercial disputes involving real estate, contract interpretation and enforcement, and commercial finance, among other areas. Practices Litigation Industries Real Estate Representative Experience Secured a final arbitration award of more than $3.16 million for a solar energy construction contractor. Secured a settlement of $2.61 M on behalf of a solar energy renewable labor supplier for a 2,000-acre solar farm installation project in Anson, Tex. Drafted a successful cross-motion for summary judgment in a lawsuit against a real estate brokerage regarding the substantial commission on a property sale. Drafted a successful motion to compel forensic examination of computer devices in a case alleging the conversion of a companys proprietary information by a former member. Successfully defeated a motion to exclude expert testimony in a health insurance benefits case before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Member of the trial team that successfully defended multimillion-dollar claims brought against a real estate development company and its principal arising out of a historic tax credit redevelopment project in Houston, Tex., including assisting the appellate team with successfully defending a trial court judgment.
