David Murray

David Murray is an experienced trial lawyer with an AV rating who has dedicated his practice to representing insureds who have been mistreated by their insurance company. He has successfully represented thousands of homeowners, business owners, and condominium owners and associations in disputes with their insurance company. Davids dedication to representing those mistreated by their insurance company has spanned over 20 years. He received his undergraduate degree from Elon College, where he concentrated his studies in political science and public administration. He later earned his law degree from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida, and also obtained a Masters of Business Administration from Stetson University School of Business Administration. David began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Tampa, where he prosecuted criminal cases ranging from traffic infractions to first-degree felonies. He then turned his focus to representing policyholders in insurance disputes throughout the state of Florida. His experience includes representing individuals, partnerships, businesses, condominiums, hotels, and corporations that have been denied insurance benefits or otherwise mistreated by their insurance carriers. David has extensive trial experience, having tried over 75 jury trials. He is admitted to the Florida Bar and all Federal Courts in the state of Florida, including the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern District and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. David is a member of several professional associations, including The Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the American Association for Justice, the Florida Justice Association, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, and the Florida Windstorm Insurance Network. Davids expertise in insurance law and litigation has led to numerous speaking engagements on first-party insurance claims. He has also made multiple media appearances discussing insurance claim issues. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyer and a member of the Rising Star list by Florida Super Lawyers publication, and he has been awarded an AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, signifying the highest level of legal skill, integrity, and ethical standards in the area of insurance coverage. Murray Law Group represents insureds throughout Florida in first party insurance claims. These include claims resulting from property damage, health, life and disability claims, denials of coverage and other types of first party insurance and disputes. David also handles claims involving unfair claims handling practices and bad faith. David lives in the Hyde Park district of South Tampa with his wife Kim, who is also an attorney, and their children, Finton and Penelope. He gives back to the community by serving as a Guardian ad Litem advocating for abused and neglected children in the foster care system and serving as a board member for the Heart Gallery of Tampa.
