Derek Goldsmith

Derek O. Goldsmith is a Partner and Business Unit Leader at Kelley Kronenberg, focusing his practice on first-party property insurance defense. Derek represents insurance carriers in all aspects of homeowner coverage disputes, including pre-litigation claim investigations and litigation defense. Derek started his career as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, where he served as first chair in numerous felony jury trials to verdict involving 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-degree felonies. Following his years at the State Attorneys office, Derek gained experience practicing first-party property insurance defense, commercial and business litigation. Derek earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Economics from the University of Florida. He then pursued his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. Derek received the Florida Rising Stars award for 2018 - 2021.
