Defreitas Louis Allen

Background Mr. DeFreitas hails from Washington D. C. and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of the District of Columbia in 1986 with a B. A. in Urban Studies. He then attended the Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans, LA graduating in 1989. He is a member of the Florida Bar, Georgia Bar, Maryland Bar, and the D. C. Bar. After graduating from Law School Mr. DeFreitas worked for several large insurance companies both in their claims departments and as in-house counsel. For the last 28 years, he has concentrated his practice in Plaintiffs personal injury and was a Partner at the former Best and Anderson Law Firm working there from 1997-2006. DeFreitas then Joined the Morgan and Morgan firm working there from 2006-2023 where he was a Partner/Shareholder. Accomplishments Mr. DeFreitas is a seasoned trial lawyer with over 34 years of experience and joined the Firm in May of 2023 and is of counsel. Mr. DeFreitas is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and has tried well over 100 civil cases to verdict and has obtained multiple million-dollar verdicts over the course of his 34-year career. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and is also certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Mediator. Mr. DeFreitas is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
