A partner with the firm, John is licensed and actively practices law in both Georgia and Alabama. He is admitted to all state and federal courts in Georgia, all state courts in Alabama, and also the US District Courts for the Middle and Northern Districts of Alabama. His primary focus is in the areas of insurance defense, workers compensation defense (including claims arising under the federal Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Act), litigation defense (including Jones Act maritime cases, premises liability cases, and motor vehicle cases), insurance coverage disputes, employment law, EEO defense, corporate, and business law. John graduated magna cum laude with his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio where he minored in history. He studied law and obtained his Juris Doctor Degree from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He joined the firm as an Associate Attorney in November of 2009 after having served first as an Assistant District Attorney (prosecutor) for the Houston Judicial Circuit and then having worked in private practice for a number of years in South Atlanta. He was elevated to Partner status effective January 1, 2016 and works primarily out of the firms Columbus and Savannah offices. John is a member of the Muscogee County/Chattahoochee Valley Bar Association, the Dougherty County Circuit Bar Association, and the Federalist Society. John lives in Harris County, Georgia with his wife and four children. They attend South Crest Church. When not working, John enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, kayaking, and refinishing antique furniture. John and his family are very engaged in the local activities in the Chattahoochee Valley, but they also have a deep connection to Savannah, Georgia, where they visit regularly.
