Brian C. Mc Carthy

Brian graduated summa cum laude from Widener University School of Law in 2013. During law school, Brian was an Articles Editor for Widener Law Review, which published Brians note on liability under the federal False Claims Act, and was also a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, through which Brian won two separate oral advocacy competitions. Brian won several awards for his accomplishments with both organizations, including membership in the Order of the Barristers, a national organization honoring skills in oral advocacy and brief writing. In law school, Brian interned for the Delaware County District Attorneys Office, and also served as Wolcott Fellow to the Honorable Henry du Pont Ridgely of the Delaware Supreme Court. After graduating from law school, Mr. McCarthy served as law clerk to the Honorable William L. Witham, Jr. of the Delaware Superior Court. Prior to entering the legal field, Brian worked as a reporter for a daily newspaper in the suburban Philadelphia area, through which Brian honed his investigative skills, which he uses today on behalf of his clients. With his partner, Jerry Egan, Brian has utilized this breadth of experience to litigate a wide variety of both criminal and civil cases on behalf of clients in multiple jurisdictions, at both the state and federal levels, including: criminal defense cases, breach of contract disputes, and civil rights matters. Brian is an avid fan of film, fiction, and the arts in general, and has translated this passion into his volunteer work with the Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. He has also volunteered with Philadelphia VIP and Chester County Bar Associations Access to Justice Program, and is a member of the Chester County Bar Association, Delaware County Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Pennsylvania Bar Association.
