Maggie George

BIO Maggie George joined her husband and partner, owner of George Law in 2018, bringing with her a wealth of experience from both the public and private sectors. After graduating from James Madison College at Michigan State University, Maggie initially planned to take a brief hiatus before law school and moved to Washington, DC, where she worked in the legislative branch of the government. She then continued in the workforce when she joined the training division of a Fortune 500 company-a position she didnt expect to be so passionate about, but was-and she spent the next 13 years working her way up to a Director level position. Despite her career success, she always held the legal field in the back of her mind. After starting a family, Maggie began to seriously consider a career change. The idea of pursuing law-a field she had always been drawn to-became more compelling as she balanced life with a toddler, supported her busy lawyer-husband, and helped build a new law firm. Despite the full plate, Maggie embraced the challenge of law school and found herself deeply engaged in her studies. She chose to focus on criminal law and defamation, areas where she could combine her passion for advocacy with her desire to make a meaningful impact. While at Wayne State University Law School, Maggie also had the privilege of clerking for Chief Judge Denise Paige Hood of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. This experience further solidified her commitment to practicing law with integrity and determination. Maggies approach to legal practice is grounded in empathy, integrity, and a tireless dedication to her clients. She works to ensure that the best qualities of her clients shine through in every case to effectively advocate for them. Maggie is particularly passionate about defending her clients reputations, livelihoods, and due process rights, always striving to ensure they are seen, heard, and believed.
