Seleta Griffin

Professional Profile Seleta Griffin is Of Counsel in the Medical Malpractice Defense Practice at Weathington, LLC. Prior to joining Weathington, Seleta spent her career dedicated to public service in the Fulton and Gwinnett County District Attorneys offices, where she most recently served as Deputy Chief Assistant DA in Gwinnett County, responsible for the prosecution of high profile and death penalty cases. Seletas public service endeavors also include tenure at the Fulton County District Attorneys Office, where she supervised the Major Case Unit, the Public Integrity Unit and ultimately was promoted to Executive Assistant District Attorney. While there, Seleta tried 60 felony cases to verdict. Notably, she led the prosecution of the Tex McIver case in Fulton County Superior Court. Seletas legal experience also includes service as Of Counsel at an Am Law Top 100 firm. Seleta was an integral team member of the commercial litigation department, prepping witnesses and arguing motions in Fulton County Superior Court. Seleta began her career in Louisville, Kentucky as a Public Defender, where she had her first trial and successfully defended her client. Seleta is also an accomplished speaker, most notably speaking at 2018s Annual Prosecutors Summer Conference. Seleta was also a featured speaker at the Diversity and the Law Conference. In addition, several of the cases that Seleta prosecuted garnered national attention and her work has been featured on Dateline, 48 Hours and Americas Most Wanted. In 2018, Seleta received the prestigious Georgia Most Powerful & Influential Women in the Law award. Seleta has also been honored with Major Case Lawyer of the Year (2017), Lewis B. Slaton Highest Achievement Award (2018), and Standing for Justice Award (2018). Seleta is a graduate of University of Texas at Austin and received her JD from the Florida State University College of Law. Seleta is the proud mother of Keri and spends her free time being her chauffeur and cheerleader.
