Luke is a New Mexico native and graduate of Valley High School in Albuquerque New Mexico. Luke received a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in classical guitar performance from the University of New Mexico. During college, Luke joined the United States Air Force as an intelligence analyst and later pursued a law degree at the University of New Mexico School of Law.During law school, Luke served as the Student Articles Editor of the New Mexico Law Review and as a judicial extern for the Honorable James A. Parker and the Honorable C. LeRoy Hansen of the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico. As President of the University of New Mexico Chapter of the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, Luke taught constitutional law to local high school students, and served as the head coach for the Project’s moot court team. He graduated magna cum laude in 2015.After law school, Luke left his position with the Air Force and joined the Army as a part-time Judge Advocate General with the New Mexico Army National Guard. Simultaneously, he joined the firm of Modrall, Sperling, Roehl, Harris & Sisk, P.A. where he practiced personal injury, natural resources, and employment law. Luke left his position with Modrall Sperling to clerk for the Honorable Justice Briana Zamora at the New Mexico Court of Appeals, where he worked on a wide range of civil and criminal matters.
