Matt B. Caudell

Experience Matt B. Caudell joined Smith, Gilliam, Williams & Miles as an attorney in 2021 after serving as a law clerk for Kelly Anne Miles during the summers of 2019 and 2020. He specializes in the area of family law. Mr. Caudell served as the president of his class at the University of Georgia School of Law and was an editor on the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. He is a graduate of the State Bar of Georgias 2024 YLD Leadership Academy. In his final year of law school, Mr. Caudell completed training to be a Neutral Mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and clerked for both the Honorable Chief Judge Joseph Booth of the Piedmont Judicial Circuit and for the Honorable Judge Lisa Lott of the Western Judicial Circuit. In addition to serving as the teaching assistant to Dr. Willow Tracys Law and the Ethics of Lawyering course, Mr. Caudell spent a year participating in UGA Laws Family Justice Clinic, where he acted as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence. Prior to law school, Mr. Caudell attended the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, where he graduated first in his class, earning a B. S. in Political Science. While at North Georgia, Mr. Caudell was the 2018 recipient of the Student Government Associations H. Michael Hyams Leadership Award, an award given annually to the top student leader in the senior class. Education University of Georgia School of Law, J.
