Hon. Wendell Griffen

Wendell Griffen is a former Arkansas judge who served on the 6th Judicial Circuit Division 5 from 2011 until his retirement in 2022. He has a long legal career spanning more than four decades, beginning as an attorney at Wright, Lindsey & Jennings, progressing to the Arkansas Court of Appeals, and culminating in his role as a circuit judge. In addition to his judicial duties, Griffen has contributed to legal education as a visiting professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and founded Griffen Strategic Consulting in 2008. He earned his J.D. from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1979 after completing a bachelor’s degree at the Department of Defense Race Relations Institute in 1975. Griffen has been recognized with the Army Commendation Medal and has served in leadership roles within the Pulaski County Bar Association, the Arkansas Workers' Compensation Commission, and the National Baptist Convention. His career reflects a commitment to public service, legal scholarship, and community engagement.
