Hon. Shawn D. Traini

Shawn Traini has served as a judge on the Alaska Third District District Court since his appointment in December 2019. He was elected to retain his seat in the 2022 retention election with 57.8% of the vote. Traini earned a bachelor's degree from Utah State University in 1996 and a J.D. from the University of Utah College of Law in 1999. His legal career has included roles as a Deputy Public Defender, Deputy Prosecutor, Assistant Municipal Prosecutor, and Assistant District Attorney, before his judicial appointment.
