Hon. Annette Rose Smedley

Annette Smedley is a Michigan Circuit Court Judge serving the 14th Circuit Court since her election in 2012. A graduate of Grand Valley State University with a bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School (Western Michigan University), she has built a legal career focused on criminal defense. Prior to her judgeship, Smedley worked as an attorney specializing in criminal defense and served as a felony public defender for Mason County. Her election victory in the 2012 general election, where she secured 50.2 percent of the vote, marked a significant milestone in her public service career.
