Hon. Gail C. Flake

Judge Gail C. Flake has been a dedicated judicial professional since her appointment as a judge in 1993 by Governor Zell Miller. With a robust educational background including a bachelor's degree from the University of Memphis, a master's degree from Georgia Tech, and a law degree from Emory Law School, she has established herself as a knowledgeable and experienced legal practitioner. Over the years, she has distinguished herself through her extensive service on the DeKalb County Superior Court, where she has been re-elected six times and has held significant leadership roles, including Chief Judge and Administrative Judge of the 4th Judicial Circuit. Her professional journey includes prior service as a judge on both the DeKalb County State and Recorders Courts and as a trial attorney in private practice. Additionally, she served as the Chief Staff Attorney for the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners. Judge Flake has been involved in several notable cases, including one designated for the Supreme Court of Georgia in 2017.
