Hon. Clifford Blakely

Clifford Blakely is a judge of the Superior Court of Alameda County in California. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Jerry Brown on January 3, 2019, and was re-elected in a nonpartisan primary on June 7, 2022, to serve a term ending January 8, 2029. Blakely earned a bachelor's degree and a J.D. from the University of Southern California, including the Gould School of Law. Prior to his judgeship, he served as a deputy public defender for the Alameda County Public Defender’s Office from 1996 to 2014 and again from 2014 to 2019, and worked as a sole practitioner from 2007 to 2014.
