Hon. Sean P. Lafferty

Sean Lafferty is a nonpartisan judge of the Superior Court of Riverside County, California, serving since January 5, 2015. A graduate of the University of California, Riverside (B.A., 1991) and McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific (J.D., 1996), Lafferty began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Riverside County District Attorney’s office, having previously worked for the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s office. He was elected to the bench in 2015, re-elected in 2020 by default after the election was canceled, and previously won the primary for the position in 2014. Lafferty’s judicial responsibilities encompass the full spectrum of civil and criminal matters within the Superior Court of Riverside County.
