Hon. Geoffrey R. German

Geoffrey R. German is an associate probate and family court justice serving the Hampden Probate and Family Court in Hampden County, Massachusetts. A University of Massachusetts Amherst alumnus (B.A., 1981) and a New England School of Law graduate (J.D., 1984), German has built a career focused on family and probate matters. Prior to his judicial appointment, he maintained a solo practice in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he specialized in family law. Nominated by Governor Deval Patrick on July 23, 2014, and confirmed by the Governor's Council on September 3, 2014, German has been a key figure in the Massachusetts probate court system, with the potential to serve until the mandatory retirement age of 70.
