R. Michael Cloud is a seasoned jurist serving as a judge on the Orange County Superior Court in Orange County, Indiana. He has held this position since July 2000, following a tenure on the Orange County Courts from 1997 to 2000. Prior to his judicial career, Cloud was the chief deputy prosecutor for Orange County from 1985 to 1997, and he also practiced privately in Paoli, Indiana. His early legal experience includes serving as a member of the majority staff of the Indiana House of Representatives from 1980 to 1983. Cloud earned his Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University in 1980 and his Juris Doctor from the Indiana University School of Law in 1985. He was re-elected to the Superior Court in 2014 for a term expiring December 31, 2020, running unopposed in both the Republican primary and the general election.
