Hon. Maria D. Granger

Maria Granger is a distinguished judge serving on the Floyd County Superior Court in Indiana. She was first elected to the court in 2008 and began her tenure in January 2009, subsequently being re-elected in 2014 for a term that ran through December 31, 2020. Granger earned her Bachelor of Science in secondary English education from Indiana University in 1990 and her Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law in 1994. Prior to her judicial appointment, she practiced privately as an attorney from 1994 to 2009, served as a court referee from 2005 to 2009, and taught as an adjunct professor at Indiana University Southeast between 2001 and 2004. Throughout her career, she has been recognized with the Earl T. Shinhoster Award in 2009 and the Woman of Achievement award in 2006, and has been active in numerous professional associations, including the Indiana Judicial Conference, the American Judicature Society, and the National Association of Women Judges.
