Hon. E. Preston Johnson

Judge E. Preston Johnson, Jr. is a lifelong resident of Appling County, Georgia. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia in 1986 and went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 1989. After law school, Judge Johnson served as a Federal Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Claude W. Hicks, Jr., a United States Magistrate Judge in Macon. He returned to Baxley after three years to join his father’s firm, Emmett P. Johnson & E. Preston Johnson, Jr., where he worked as a partner. In 2002, he was sworn in as the State Court Judge of Appling County and has since served as the Municipal Court Judge for the city of Baxley. In addition to his judicial duties, Judge Johnson serves as the Director of the Baxley/Appling County Chamber of Commerce. His professional affiliations include the Kiwanis Club of Baxley, First Baptist Church of Baxley, and the Baxley/Appling County Chamber of Commerce.
