Hon. Richard H. Dubois

Richard H. DuBois is a seasoned legal professional who has served as a judge on the Superior Court of San Mateo County, California, since his appointment by Governor Jerry Brown in 2012. Prior to his judgeship, DuBois worked as a family law commissioner for the same court and practiced law in several private firms, including DuBois and Kelly and the Law Offices of George P. Eshoo. He earned his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1972 and his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1975. DuBois was re-elected unopposed in 2014 for a term that expires in January 2021. His legal career has focused on family law and general jurisdiction matters within the California state court system.
