Hon. Andrew Roraback

Andrew W. Roraback is a former judge of the Waterbury District Superior Court in Connecticut, serving from 2013 until 2021. Prior to his judicial appointment, he had a long career in public service, representing the 30th Senate District in the Connecticut State Senate from 2000 to 2013 and the 64th Assembly District in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1994 to 2000. He also practiced family law as a partner at the family law firm Roraback & Roraback from 1988 until his judicial appointment. A Yale University alumnus (B.A., 1983) and a University of Virginia School of Law graduate (J.D., 1987), Roraback has been recognized for his legislative leadership, receiving the Family Legislator of the Year award in 2007, the GLADD Award in 2004, and the Aspen-Rodel Fellowship in Public Leadership in 2006. He is noted for being the sole Republican senator to vote for the repeal of Connecticut’s death penalty in 2009.
