Hon. Mark Anthony Scott

Judge Mark Anthony Scott served as a Superior Court Judge in the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit for 18 years, from 2004 to 2022. Prior to his judicial tenure, he began his legal career as an Associate Regional Counsel at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) from 1991 to 1994, and earlier worked as a Staff Attorney at Provident Life & Accident Insurance Company in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Judge Scott earned his Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law in 1984 and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from California State University, Fresno in 1980. He is a member of the DeKalb Bar Association and has served as its past president. Judge Scott also held the position of the first paid Executive Director of the DeKalb County Chapter of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. His community service has been recognized with the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Elder Watson Diggs Award and the Justice Robert Benham Award.
