Hon. Asha F. Jackson

Judge Asha F. Jackson has been appointed to the DeKalb County Superior Court and has been twice elected in uncontested races. Prior to her judicial career, she practiced commercial and tort litigation at prominent law firms. Notable cases include representing NFL player Ray Lewis and a funeral home involved in a crematory scandal. She founded Project Pinnacle for non-violent offenders under 25 and presides over the felony mental health court. Judge Jackson is actively involved in community service and legal leadership roles.<br/><br/>Judge Shondeana C. Morris was appointed to the DeKalb County Superior Court on June 17, 2019. She previously served as a State Court Judge and has a background in assisting in legal capacities such as Assistant Solicitor and Deputy District Attorney. She is involved in various civic and professional organizations including the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys.<br/><br/>In terms of professional experience, both judges have extensive backgrounds in law practice, including roles as partners at major law firms and prior judicial appointments. They also hold advanced degrees such as a B.A. in Health and Society and a J.D. from prestigious institutions.<br/><br/>Their professional affiliations include organizations that support legal professionals and promote justice within their communities, reflecting their commitment to public service and legal advocacy.
