About
Andrew Ellis is a judge of the Idaho 4th Judicial District Magistrate Division, having assumed office on October 1, 2013. He has served in that capacity since 2013 and was retained in the 2020 and 2016 elections with 79.8% and 79.12% of the vote, respectively. Prior to his judgeship, Ellis worked as a deputy prosecuting attorney for Ada County from 2002 to 2014 and served as an adjunct professor at the University of Idaho College of Law in 2013. He holds a B.A. in English from the College of Idaho and a J.D. from the University of Idaho. In addition to his legal career, Ellis is a filmmaker and serves as partner and managing director of the Idaho 48-Hour Film Competition and Festival.
