Hon. Latosha Lewis Payne

Judge Latosha Lewis Payne is a trailblazer in the Texas judiciary. She was part of the historic 'Black Girl Magic' campaign in 2018, where 17 African American women were elected as judges in Harris County. She is known for her advocacy for pro bono and self-represented litigants, increasing access to justice for those without legal representation. Payne also serves as the Administrative Judge for Harris County. Her background includes overcoming hurdles, both literally as a track athlete and figuratively in her legal career, including becoming one of the first Black students to enroll at the University of Texas Law after the *Hopwood v. Texas* ruling.
