Hon. Jim Wilbanks

Jim Wilbanks is a Superior Court judge for the Conasauga Judicial Circuit, sworn in December 2014. Prior to this, he served as the judge for Dalton Municipal Court and held several appointed positions, including judge pro tem for Varnell Municipal Court, Whitfield County Probate Court, Murray County Probate Court, and Cohutta Municipal Court. He also served as Associate Judge for the Juvenile Court in the Conasauga Circuit and has experience in private law practice. Wilbanks graduated from Murray County High School in 1977 and earned his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1984. He secured his current seat by defeating incumbent David Blevins in a runoff election. Throughout his career, he has focused on improving the jury duty process and expanding the Conasauga Drug Court program.
