Hon. William T. Boyett

William T. Boyett has had a distinguished career in law and public service. He began his legal practice with Mitchell & Mitchell in 1969, laying the foundation for his professional achievements. In 1982, he was elected as the Elected Superior Court Judge, marking a significant milestone in his career. His leadership extended to serving as the Chief Superior Court Judge of the Conasauga Judicial Circuit, which encompasses Whitfield and Murray counties, a role he held until his retirement on January 1, 2023, after 40 years of service. This tenure solidified his reputation as one of Georgia's longest-serving active Superior Court judges. Boyett was honored with the prestigious Judge Emory Findley Award for Judicial Service in 2020, recognizing his exceptional contributions to the legal profession and public service.<br/><br/>During his tenure, he served on the Council of Superior Court Judges from 2006-2007 and was a member of the Judicial Council of Georgia from 1998-2000 and again from 2005-2007. His dedication to legal education and community service was evident as he led the Conasauga Bar Association, enriching the legal community in his area.<br/><br/>The historic main courtroom of the Whitfield County Courthouse was renamed in his honor, a testament to his impact on both the profession and his community.
