Hon. Howard Eugene McClain

Howard McClain has over 25 years of legal experience, serving as a city attorney, county attorney, and municipal court judge in the Alapaha Circuit. He is currently a member of First Baptist Church in Adel, Georgia, and has been actively involved in local community organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and Valdosta Technical College. McClain announced his candidacy for Superior Court Judge of the Alapaha Judicial Circuit in 2008, following a long career in public service and legal practice. He has also served on the Superior Court of Douglas County since 2008, where he was elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2012, 2016, and 2020. Prior to his judicial role, Judge McClain worked as a Chief Assistant District Attorney for 27 years, handling over 250 jury trials and establishing the first Felony Drug Court in Douglas County. McClain's commitment to community service extends beyond his legal career; he is dedicated to public service initiatives such as founding the first Felony Drug Court in Douglas County and remains an active member of the Chamber of Commerce and Valdosta Technical College. His extensive experience, coupled with his dedication to community involvement, has made him a prominent figure in local politics and legal affairs.
