Hon. Lyris Younge

Lyris Younge is a judge serving on the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania, having been elected to the position on November 3, 2015. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Emory University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia. Prior to her judicial appointment, Younge worked as an attorney for the City of Philadelphia’s Law Department for over a decade and served as an administrator for District Council 1199c, the National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees. She is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania. In 2021, Younge was suspended for six months by the State Court of Judicial Discipline for repeated improper conduct.
