Waddill ran for election to the Denton County Criminal Court.Primary: He was successful in the Republicanprimary on March 4, 2014, receiving 63.5 percent of the vote.He competed against Vic Rivera.General: He won without opposition in the general election on November 4, 2014.

Education
Waddill received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas in 1994. He later earned his J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1999.[4][5]

Career
At the time of his candidacy, Waddill was an attorney in private practice, specializing in criminal defense.[4] He is a former partner with the firm of Marsh, Paine & Waddill, P.C. In addition, Waddill previously worked as a prosecutor.[4]

have practiced law or served as a judge for at least four years preceding the election.
