John Maurer is a judge on Michigan's 56th Circuit Court, appointed by Governor Rick Snyder on May 2, 2016. He earned a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University in 1985 and a J.D. from Cooley Law School in 1988. Maurer spent two decades at the law firm Deming & Maurer before serving as a prosecutor in the Clinton County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in 2015. He has been serving as a circuit court judge since 2016 and will run for election in 2018 to complete the remainder of Judge Jeffrey Sauter's term.
