Hon. Amy V. Hollars

Amy V. Hollars is a circuit court judge serving the Thirteenth Judicial District in Tennessee. She was appointed by Governor Phil Bredesen on July 15, 2009, to fill a vacancy left by her father, retired Judge John A. Turnbull, and subsequently elected to the court in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. Her current term is set to expire in 2022. Hollars earned her undergraduate degree from the University of the South, a master's in English from Vanderbilt University, and a J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Prior to her judicial service, she worked as a solo practitioner in Overton County, partnered at the Knoxville firm Hodges, Doughty and Carson, and served as an attorney for the City of Livingston from October 2007 to October 2008. She also served as a special circuit judge for the 13th Judicial District before her appointment as a full circuit judge.
