Hon. James P. Cramer

James Cramer has served as a judge on the Superior Court of Alameda County, California, since his appointment by Governor Jerry Brown in March 2015. He was elected to the position in 2016 and re-elected in 2022, with his current term set to expire on January 8, 2029. Prior to his judicial service, Mr. Cramer held a variety of legal roles, including assistant public defender, supervising legal research attorney, general counsel, and litigation associate, across several California offices. He earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University.
