Hon. Stephen Kaus

Stephen Kaus is a judge of the Superior Court of Alameda County in California, having been appointed in 2012 and serving a term that ends on January 4, 2027. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law. Prior to his judicial appointment, Mr. Kaus practiced law for nearly three decades, including roles as an attorney at Cooper White and Cooper LLP, a sole practitioner of his own firm, an attorney at Kaus Kerr and Wagstaffe, and as a deputy public defender for the Contra Costa County Public Defender's Office.
