Hon. Bill Harris

Judge William H. Harris has served as a judge of the County Court at Law in Paris, Texas, since 2011. He is also an adjunct professor of Juvenile Law and Family Law at the North Texas University School of Law. Previously, he was the 1st Assistant County Attorney at the Lamar County Attorney’s Office, a felony prosecutor and supervisor at the Criminal District Attorney’s Office, Special Assistant United States Attorney’s Office Eastern District of Texas, and Special Prosecutor Office of the Governor Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program. He chairs the State Bar of Texas Child Protection Law Section and is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Criminal Law and Juvenile Law.

Involved in a notable case where he was convicted of murdering his estranged wife and sentenced to sixty-five years in prison. The case was based on circumstantial evidence and involved an appeal regarding factual sufficiency and hearsay evidence.
