Hon. Herbert Thomas Wright

Herbert T. Wright is a judge serving the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Arkansas, Division 4. He has held this position since his election in 2008 and was re-elected in 2014 for a term expiring in 2020. Prior to his current role, Wright served as a judge on the Wrightsville District Court from 2005 to 2008. Earlier in his career, he maintained a private practice beginning at the end of 1990 and had previously worked as a clerk for Judge Perry V. Whitmore. Wright has earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He is licensed to practice law in Arkansas and has served as President of the Pulaski County Bar Foundation and as a board member of the Pulaski County Bar Association. Notably, Judge Wright presided over the trial of Abdulhakim Muhammad in the 2009 military recruiting station shooting case, where he sentenced the defendant to multiple life terms and additional years in prison.
