Hon. John D. Klossner

John Klossner is a judge serving on Minnesota’s Tenth Judicial District Court, a position he has held since his appointment by Governor Mark Dayton on June 19, 2017. Prior to his judgeship, Klossner built a distinguished career in public defense, serving as first assistant chief public defender for the Seventh and Eighth Judicial District Public Defender’s Office and later as managing attorney and assistant public defender in the Tenth Judicial District Public Defender’s Office. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville, and a Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Klossner’s professional focus has centered on criminal defense and public defense work, and he has contributed to the Minnesota legal community through both his judicial and public defender roles.
