Hon. David F. Hermerding

David Hermerding is a judge serving the Ninth Judicial District in Aitkin County, Minnesota, having been appointed by Governor Mark Dayton on February 1, 2017. Prior to his judicial appointment, he held key legal positions in Crow Wing County, including Chief Deputy County Attorney and Assistant District Attorney. His experience also spans the public defense side as a managing and staff attorney for the Ninth District public defender's office, and the private sector as a partner at the law firm Mitchell & Hermerding. Hermerding earned a B.A. from St. John’s University and a J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and he is licensed to practice law in Minnesota.
