Hon. Samuel Diaz

Samuel Diaz Jr. has served as a judge on the Superior Court of Riverside County, California, since his appointment in 2009. He was elected to the position in 2010 and has been re-elected in subsequent elections, most recently in 2022, where he won outright in the primary. Prior to his judicial tenure, Diaz worked as a deputy public defender from 2007 to 2009, spent nine years in private practice, and served four years as a public defender in Riverside County. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and his Juris Doctor from Western State University. Diaz is licensed to practice law in California and has built a career focused on criminal defense and public service.
